In a written statement made by the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza, “There is a very serious crisis regarding drinking water in the Gaza Strip due to continued Israeli attacks.
“The occupation forces have not pumped a single liter of drinking water to any city in the Gaza Strip for 10 days, forcing people to resort to contaminated water,” he said.
The statement warned of a serious health crisis that threatens the lives of citizens.
On October 8, Israel decided to cut off water, electricity, food and other basic services to Gaza, which was under blockade.
The United Nations reported on October 14 that more than 2 million people were at risk due to water depletion across the Gaza Strip.
Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, called the “Aqsa Flood.” As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.
Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,300 Israelis, including 286 soldiers, were killed and 3,968 Israelis were wounded in the attacks carried out from Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 2,750 people were killed and 9,700 injured in Gaza in Israel’s attacks.
It was claimed that 58 Palestinians were killed and approximately 1,250 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank. 11 journalists also lost their lives in Israeli attacks.
In the clashes that have broken out between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on the Israeli border in southern Lebanon since October 8, 3 civilians, 4 Hezbollah militiamen and 2 members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement have died so far. 3 Israeli soldiers were killed in the attacks carried out by Lebanon.
