Three countries announced: ceasefire decision in Gaza

The drums of war are beating after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 and Israel retaliated against Gaza later. A notable development took place today after Israel announced that it would attack Palestine by air, land and sea.

Egypt, Israel and the United States decided on a ceasefire in southern Gaza starting at 09:00 GMT. Two Egyptian officials announced this decision to the British news agency Reuters. The ceasefire decision coincided with the reopening of the Rafah border gate.

While anonymous officials stated that the ceasefire would last a few hours, they also announced that the Rafah border gate would remain open until 14:00 GMT.

A denial came from NETANYAHU

While the US embassy in Israel did not make any statement on the issue, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement half an hour after the Reuters story.

The statement made by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office said: “There is currently no ceasefire or humanitarian aid in exchange for the expulsion of foreigners from Gaza.”

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DIED

Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”

As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.

Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,300 Israelis were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks carried out from Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 2,670 people were killed and 9,600 injured in Gaza in Israel’s attacks.

It was claimed that 56 Palestinians were killed and approximately 619 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.
