Israel prepares to evacuate thousands of civilians

According to the Israeli newspaper Globes, based on the National Emergency Administration (NEMA) affiliated with the Israeli Ministry of Defense, civilians living in Israel’s northern border regions will be placed in schools across the country in case of a possible conflict with Lebanon.

The president of NEMA, Yoram Laredo, stated that the number of people who need to be evacuated “operationally” in the possible conflict with Lebanon is at least 70 thousand.

Laredo shared the information that Israel has a total capacity of 60 thousand hotel rooms and since only 40 thousand of them are outside the designated risk zone, those who live near the border can be placed in schools.

EVACUATIONS CONTINUE IN ISRAEL

NEMA reported that, within the framework of the evacuation operation carried out with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), approximately 13 thousand people from settlements located between 0 and 4 kilometers from the blockaded Gaza Strip were housed in 31 hotels in recent years. 24 hours.

While the evacuation of Israelis living in Sderot, the closest Israeli town to the blockaded Gaza Strip, is almost complete, most of the region’s 30,000 people have left their homes, according to The Jerusalem Post.

NEMA noted that preparations continue for the evacuation of approximately 25 thousand people in the cities of Ofakim and Askalan, 7 kilometers from the Gaza Strip.

According to Israel’s Channel 12 news, a total of 60,000 Israelis were displaced due to the conflicts.

ATTACKS ON ISRAELI MILITARY POINTS

Hezbollah announced that 2 Israeli tanks were hit by anti-tank guided missiles on Lebanon’s southern border and an armed attack was carried out against 5 military points.

The statement stated that “some Israeli soldiers were killed and others wounded” in the attack.

Clashes were reported to have broken out on the border and armed attacks were carried out against Israeli military points in the regions of Jal al-Alem, Birket Risha, Ramya, Manara and Abaad.

Hezbollah had announced that the attack in question was carried out against Lebanese journalist Issam Abdullah and two Lebanese civilians who were killed in an Israeli bombing.

ISRAEL-HAMAS CONFLICT

Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”

As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border and took it.

Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,300 Israelis were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks carried out from Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 2,670 people were killed and 9,600 injured in Gaza in Israel’s attacks.

It was claimed that 56 Palestinians were killed and approximately 619 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.
