Sisi: Israel’s reaction became collective punishment

Egyptian President Sisi received US Secretary of State Blinken, who arrived in the capital Cairo as part of his official visit.

Noting the latest developments in the Gaza Strip during the meeting, Sisi said: “The delay in resolving the Palestinian issue creates more grievances.” he said.

Stating that the lack of a horizon for the solution of the Palestinian problem caused an increase in anger in the region, Sisi noted that the transportation of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip must be facilitated.

Sisi also stated that he “hopes that the situation in Gaza can be controlled and that other parties do not intervene in the conflict” and added: “Israel’s reaction has gone beyond self-defense and has become collective punishment.” saying.

US Secretary of State Blinken arrived in the capital Cairo today as part of his visit to the region, which includes Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

ISRAEL-HAMAS CONFLICT

Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”

As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.

Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,300 Israelis were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks carried out from Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 2,329 people, including 724 children and 458 women, were killed and 9,042 injured in Gaza during the Israeli attacks.

It was claimed that 56 Palestinians were killed and approximately 619 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.

In Israel’s attacks, nine journalists in Gaza and one in Lebanon lost their lives. (AA)
