Zelenskiy: I have no doubt that Ukraine will become a member of the EU

Ukrainian President Zelenskiy was received with an official ceremony by President Klaus Werner Iohannis in Bucharest, capital of Romania, where he made an official visit. The parties then held private and inter-delegation meetings.

During the meetings, defense cooperation, security in the Black Sea and economic cooperation, as well as infrastructure development and job creation in both countries, were discussed.

Zelenskiy spoke at the joint press conference held after the talks. Stating that an agreement has been reached between Ukraine and Romania on a strategic partnership, Zelenskiy stated that they are ready to establish relations at this level and have given instructions to make preparations for its realization.

Zelenskiy emphasized that a very important decision was made in Romania regarding the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft and said: “A training center is being created. “We discussed with Mr. President (Iohannis) how this training could be accelerated and agreed that Ukrainian pilots should be included in the first wave of training.” he said.

Stating that “there will be good news about artillery and air defense systems” in relation to Romania’s military support to Ukraine, Zelenskiy stated that he and President Iohannis discussed possible joint actions to protect ports, as well as Ukraine, Moldova , the region and the Romanian people.

“UKRAINE WILL BE READY THIS YEAR”

Zelenskiy said: “I have no doubt that both Ukraine and Moldova will become members of the EU. It is important that Romania supports our States on the path towards European integration. “Ukraine will be ready to start EU membership negotiations this year.” saying.

Zelenskiy highlighted that good results have been achieved in the development of logistics between Ukraine, Romania and Moldova: “The grain corridor stretching from Ukraine to Romania through Moldova will soon be operational. “This is an example of how much we can do together and will be important and of great value not only for us but also for Europe and the entire world.” he made the assessment of it.

President Iohannis, on the other hand, said: “Until victory is achieved against Russia, all Ukrainian lands are liberated, all those responsible for crimes are brought to justice, and then we will provide support to Ukraine in a multifaceted and meaningful way. , including military aid, for as long as it is necessary in the process of reconstruction of Ukraine.” He said that they will continue to support Turkey and its people with full determination.
