Germany asylum seeker incentive: 12 percent increase

Germany asylum seeker incentive: 12 percent increase

Starting January 1, 2024, the Bürgergeld (Public Money) given to all unemployed people, accepted for asylum, foreigners or nationals, and who need help, will be increased in Germany.

In the country where inflation has fallen to 4.5 percent, Bürgergeld will increase by 12 percent. These figures will further encourage those who enter the country illegally. Because only the net aid income of an unemployed family will exceed 3,700 euros.

RENT, FUEL AND TAXES ARE PAID

A person living alone will receive a net amount of 563 euros, not including rent, fuel or tax aid. This amount will remain at 502 euros until the end of the year, and the increase will occur on January 1. Couples who need help may receive this money separately. 471 euros will be given per child from 15 to 18 years old. The current amount of aid granted is 420 euros.

390 euros will be paid per child from 7 to 14 years old and 357 euros per child from 0 to 6 years old. Those fleeing Turkey will receive approximately 70 euros less than this amount if their asylum is not accepted. Those whose asylum is accepted will be able to receive all this money.

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF CALCULATION

For example, a mother and her two children will receive aid of 1,343 euros in the new year. If the father also needs help, an additional 563 euros will be added. All rents, fuel costs and radio and television taxes for this family will be covered by the state. Together with school aid and various tax deductions, the monthly income (including rent) will exceed 3,700 euros.

THE MINIMUM WAGE IS ALSO INCREASE

Meanwhile, Germany is also increasing the minimum wage for simple jobs. The minimum wage will be 12.41 euros until the end of this year. As of January 1, it will increase to 12.82 euros. The increase rate was 3.42 percent.
