UN Declaration on Israel-Palestine

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres made a statement to the press about the events in Israel-Palestine at the UN building in New York.

Stating that he met with senior UN leaders to discuss the “unprecedented” developments in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, Guterres condemned the Hamas attacks, which he called repugnant.

“NOTHING JUSTIFIES THIS TERRORIST ATTACK”

“I accept that the Palestinian people have legitimate concerns. “However, nothing justifies this terrorist attack that caused deaths, captures and injuries to civilians,” said Guterres, calling for an immediate end to hostilities and the release of the hostages.

WARNING TO ISRAEL

Stating that the death toll and injury toll will rise as Israeli operations continue, Guterres said: “While I understand Israel’s legitimate security concerns, I remind it that it must carry out all its military operations very meticulously and in accordance with the International human right”.

“I greet with deep concern today’s announcement by Israel that it will launch a total siege on the Gaza Strip, where there will be no electricity, food or fuel,” Guterres said. He made a statement.

123 THOUSAND PEOPLE WERE DISPLACED IN GAZA

On the other hand, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) made a written statement on developments in the region.

The statement noted that the conflicts caused the displacement of 17,500 families in Gaza, which corresponds to 123,538,000 people, and stated that “the main reasons for this are fear, the destruction of homes and the purposes of protection”.

The statement stated that Israeli authorities asked those in Gaza to “leave the area” but imposed many “movement restrictions” and that some checkpoints and entrances were closed.

The statement noted that humanitarian aid needs in Palestine have increased and emphasized that their needs cannot be met due to lack of transportation. (AA)
