Demonstrations in support of Palestine were not allowed
According to the country’s press, the Rhône regional government announced that it would not allow the demonstration in support of Palestine, which was planned at the initiative of many groups, considering that it threatened to disturb public order.
However, the Jewish Council of France (CRIF), the organization that brings together Jewish organizations in France, decided to hold a demonstration in support of Israel tomorrow in the same city.
The Government has not yet commented on whether this show will be canceled or not.
A demonstration was held in Australia in support of Palestine
On the other hand, a demonstration in support of Palestine was held in Australia. According to ABC News, a group gathered in the Lakemba region, southwest of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales (NSW), to show their support for Palestine.
During the demonstration, slogans such as “occupation is a crime” and “Palestine will be free” were chanted, while banners with messages of support for Palestinian Muslims were carried.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in his statement on the demonstration, stated that “this is not a situation that should be praised, on the contrary, it should be condemned.”
Foreign Minister Penny Wong also noted that Hamas’ attacks on Israel are no cause for celebration.
The Australian National Council of Imams also said the government should avoid unilateral statements of support that ignore the Palestinian people.
Aqsa flood
Hamas’s military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, called the “Aqsa Flood.” As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.
Then, from here, armed groups entered settlements inside Israel and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
15 Palestinians lost their lives as a result of fire opened by Israeli soldiers in several cities in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli media reported that more than 700 Israelis have been killed and 2,315 people wounded in the attacks so far. (AA)
