Hamas and Israel launched an attack and a “state of war” was declared
While Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that it had launched an operation against Israel called “Aqsa Flood”, the Israeli army announced that it had launched an attack against the Gaza Strip.
Tension in the region rose rapidly as rockets were fired from blockaded Gaza towards Israel. The commander of the Qassam Brigades, Mohammed al-Dayf, announced that they launched 5,000 rockets and mortars in the first phase of the Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant signed the decree calling reserve soldiers into service.
According to the Israeli army statement, some of the rockets launched by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip were destroyed by the Israeli army’s “Iron Dome” air defense systems.

Images shared on social media claimed that Hamas took Israeli soldiers hostage.
The military asked settlers near the Gaza border not to leave their homes due to security risks.
Israeli media also reported that sirens were heard in many regions, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Explosions were heard in the sky over Jerusalem due to missiles fired from the Iron Dome.

Smoke rises in many areas due to rockets launched in Ashkelon.
In the statement made by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Training in the Gaza Strip, it was announced that education in all schools in the Gaza Strip was suspended until further notice.
WAR SITUATION ALERT
The Israeli army declared a “war situation alert” following the latest developments. It was claimed that an armed group from the Gaza Strip infiltrated Israeli territory.
According to images shared on social media, an armed group was seen advancing with a pickup truck into Israeli settlements near Gaza. A video was shared of armed people stationed on the roof of a house and a video of an armed group advancing on the road opening fire on a police vehicle.
Palestinian groups reportedly opened fire on a ship belonging to the Israeli Navy off the Gaza Strip. The official Israeli broadcaster KAN reported that an Israeli woman was killed and many people were injured as a result of a rocket that hit settlements around Gaza. (AGENCIES)
