Prime Minister dismissed and government dissolved
The Secretary General of the Presidency of the Ivory Coast, Aboudramane Cisse, announced in his statement that Prime Minister Patrick Achi was dismissed and the government dissolved.
“The president expresses his gratitude to Prime Minister Patrick Achi and all members of the government for their commitment to serving the country over the past years,” Cisse said.
No official statement was made about the reason for the decision. It was noted that Prime Minister Achi and the cabinet will continue with their duties until a new one is determined.
Ouattara is said to run for president again in 2025.
Prime Minister Achi submitted his resignation to President Alassane Ouattara in April last year, but was re-elected Prime Minister a week later. (AA)
