Zelenskiy: A very difficult winter awaits us
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who attended the third meeting of the European Political Community (AST) held in Granada, Spain, reiterated his request for assistance for the air defense system against Russian attacks.
Zelenskiy said in a brief statement to reporters at the entrance to the AST meeting room in Grenada: “We are in for a very difficult winter. We will be exposed to numerous attacks from Russia throughout the winter. Russia will be a threat to the European continent. “That’s why we need as many air and missile defense systems as possible,” he said.
The Ukrainian president also responded to a question about the evolution of US domestic politics by saying: “In my meeting with US President (Joe) Biden, he said that he supported us 100 percent. In the United States, both parties in Congress support us. But I know that electoral periods are always complicated,” he responded.
On the other hand, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, host of the AST meeting, said that in today’s meetings they would continue to give a message of support and unity to Ukraine and that he would hold a bilateral meeting with Zelenskiy.
27 members of the European Union (EU) and leaders from 17 European countries will attend the one-day AST meeting in Grenada. (AA)
