Intelligence report: Dozens died in submarine disaster
It was revealed that the Chinese submarine disaster in the Yellow Sea led to the deaths of many sailors.
According to the secret intelligence report prepared by the British, 55 Chinese sailors are believed to have died as a result of the nuclear submarine being caught in a trap. The report states that the sailors died from poisoning due to a malfunction in the submarine’s oxygen system.
While Chinese officials denied the incident, it was claimed that the country did not accept international aid during the incident. According to the report, the captain of the submarine also lost his life in the accident that occurred on August 21.
The British press recalled that Russia initially denied the accident in which more than 100 Russian sailors died as a result of the explosion of the Kursk submarine in 2000.
