29 soldiers lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the border with Mali in Niger.

The Nigerien Ministry of Defense statement said army units returning from a terrorist operation in the northwestern district of Tabatol were attacked. According to initial findings, 29 soldiers were killed and 2 were seriously injured in the attack, and many terrorists were neutralized.

The attack was recorded as the bloodiest since the military took over the government on July 26. In August, 17 soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in the Tillaberi region, located on the Nigerian side of the border line shared by Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, known as the “tri-country border.”
