Scientific research: This is what you need to do to be successful at work

Follow this formula to be successful in business

Scientists from Vanderbilt University and George Mason University in the United States explained the formula you must follow to have a successful career.

Consequently, the secret to shining in the business world is to highlight the achievements of your colleagues without ignoring your own.

“We show that individuals can project warmth and competence by simultaneously encouraging others, describing others’ achievements and qualities, and identifying and affirming their own achievements and qualities,” the research team said in a statement.

SEVEN EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT

For the research published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, seven experiments were carried out with 1,488 participants. 200 hiring managers read the story of two colleagues who completed a joint project and evaluated themselves.

The first employee to use the double praise method said, “This project was successful because of our teamwork. I was in charge of all financial analysis, technical processes and background design. Alex really impressed me with the way he handled communications with our clients. “We both took responsibility for what we do best and that led to a great result.” he wrote.

The employee praised himself and said: “This project was a success thanks to the efficient technical details. My skills were a perfect fit for this project, so I was responsible for all financial analysis, technical processes and design. “I took responsibility for what I do best and that led to a great result.” saying.

Managers rated them both about the same in terms of competence, but in terms of warmth, the candidate who praised both parties received an average score of 5.65 on a seven-point scale, while the other candidate received a score of 4.14.
