Berlusconi’s lover disappeared with an inheritance of 100 million euros
The disappearance of Marta Fascina, the lover of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who died in July, with the enormous inheritance she had earned, generated a controversy in the country’s politics.
Berlusconi, leader of the Forza Italia party, who died of leukemia at the age of 86, left an inheritance of 100 million euros to his girlfriend Fascina, 33, a deputy from the same party. The Italian deputy has not attended parliamentary sessions since then and has almost never appeared in public.
Fascina, who was expected to play a major role in Forza Italia following Berlusconi’s death, disappeared, creating a crisis in the party.
‘ENOUGH OF TEARS’
Fascina, who said he was in mourning by locking himself in his Milan home and sent the message “My pain is still great” to party meetings he did not attend, provoked a huge reaction in his party for not fulfilling his political duties. The management of Forza Italia has asked Fascina, missing for four months, to resign from his seat in parliament.
Mariarosaria Rossi, a former member of the party, said: “I think it would be right for him to resign if he cannot go to parliament because of his sadness.” Berlusconi’s brother Paolo reacted suggestively to Fascina’s months-long mourning by saying: “I think these tears are enough.”
Berlusconi and Fascina organized a fake wedding ceremony last year and it was revealed that the former prime minister’s children did not approve of this marriage and convinced their father. However, Berlusconi left a huge fortune to his young lover.
