Greek mayor slaps flood victims
Ahileas Beos, the mayor of the city of Volos, who was facing flooding for the second time in Greece, slapped a flood victim.
According to Greek media reports, a verbal argument first took place between Beos and a local resident, who claimed that the necessary precautions had not been taken.
It was reported on the news that Beos slapped the person in question after the argument. The Beos images became the target of criticism following the decision of Greek officials to resign following natural disasters and accidents with multiple fatalities.

Beos said in a statement after the incident caused a stir on social media: “My reaction is the result of being sleep deprived for a month.”
The flood disaster that occurred on September 28 affected the Thessaly region and caused serious damage, especially in settlements such as Volos, Pilio, Larisa and Farsala.
Many homes, workplaces, agricultural land and roads were flooded and damaged, and many roads were closed to traffic due to landslides.
Due to heavy rain, much of Volos did not receive electricity.
