Terrifying discovery: bags full of body parts found
The bodies were found in various locations in and around Monterrey, the industrial center of northern Mexico, including some of the country’s wealthiest neighborhoods.
Nuevo León state officials reported that at least seven bodies were found, as well as five bags full of body parts. It was observed that some of the bodies had had their heads cut off.
Authorities say they cannot give an exact figure for the death toll because some bodies were found in pieces.
GANG WARS
Gerardo Palacios, a senior state security official, said they thought the bodies could belong to members of drug cartels in the state of Tamaulipas.
The incident was reminiscent of the gang wars that turned the country into a bloodbath in the 2010s. As conflicts between drug cartels continued, bodies were left in the streets or hung on bridges across the country.
Monterrey, a relatively quiet region of the country, was chosen by Tesla as the center where it would open its latest factory. (AGENCIES)
