Epidemic alarm was raised in the neighbor

Greek state television ERT news reported that the cause of death of a person who died on the island of Kerkira on September 22 was leptospirosis, a bacterial disease.

RESULT IN DEATH

Recalling that one person died from leptospirosis in Kerkira in May, EODY asked the General Directorate of Health of the Regional Government to carry out investigations into the possibility of an epidemic disease and carry out disinfection and pest control work.

MAY NOT GIVE ANY SYMPTOMS

Leptospirosis, caused by a bacteria called Leptospira, may not cause any symptoms, but may also show symptoms such as headache, muscle pain, high fever, bleeding in the lungs, and meningitis.

Leptospirosis, which is transmitted especially through rodents such as mice, can also be transmitted from person to person, although it is rare. (AA)
