Before Erdoğan, some European leaders also took steps for Tesla to establish its seventh factory. Before Erdogan, French President Emmanuel Macron met with Musk in June.

Macron met with Musk twice in less than a month in June. At the time, French media wrote that Macron was trying to persuade Musk to establish a Tesla factory in northern France.
