He was under house arrest: the wife of El Chapo’s beauty queen can be released
Emma Coronel Aispuro, former beauty queen of the United States, has been under house arrest since June after serving 15 months of a three-year prison sentence for drug trafficking and will probably be released today, Wednesday, September 13.

The 34-year-old married El Chapo in 2007 and is believed to be the fourth wife of the 66-year-old drug kingpin.
Aispuro was arrested in February 2021 and received a three-year prison sentence on drug and money laundering charges through a plea deal, Daily Star reported. After serving 15 months, the mother of El Chapo’s two children abandoned FMC Carswell in Texas to spend the remainder of his sentence at his home in Los Angeles.

His charges included money laundering, distribution of illegal drugs and conspiracy.
Coronel also admitted to serving as a courier between Guzmán and other members of the organization in 2014 while he was detained in Mexico’s Altiplano prison.
However, it was also announced that the young woman would be subject to probation for another two years.

The former beauty queen attended El Chapo’s trial in 2019 with her children. The drug trafficker is currently serving a life sentence in a prison in Florida, United States.
