Vietnam fire disaster: dozens of people killed, including children
A fire broke out in an apartment building in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, causing a disaster.
In the fire that occurred in a 9-story apartment building where 150 people lived, the flames quickly surrounded the apartment and dozens of people died who had no chance to escape. Vietnamese media reported that the fire that broke out at night was extinguished within a few hours, but dozens of people lost their lives.
Almost 70 rescued people were hospitalized. As rescue teams continue their work, authorities are trying to determine the net number of victims.
The French news agency AFP reported that there was only one exit in the apartment and no fire escape.
It is also stated that many children were among the dead.
Vietnam has recently suffered fire disasters in which many people have died. Last year, 32 people died in a fire at a bar in Ho Chi Minh City.
