The meeting that the world followed closely… Ballistic missiles were fired during the Putin-Kim meeting
The long-awaited meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un took place and has caused concern in the Western world.
Kim, who traveled to Russia on a special train, met with Putin today at the Vostochny Cosmodrome space station in the country’s Far East region.
During the meeting, attention was drawn to North Korea’s launch of two ballistic missiles.
As Putin welcomed Kim with the words “I’m glad to see you,” the North Korean leader, speaking through a translator, thanked Putin for his invitation.
The two leaders toured the facilities together and conducted inspections. The presence of the North Korean military officer responsible for weapons and ammunition on Kim’s team did not go unnoticed.
During the meeting, Putin announced that they would help North Korea develop satellites.
In the West, the Russian summit is closely followed, which put its nuclear missiles into combat position during the wars in North Korea and Ukraine, which recently attracted attention with their successive missile tests. Western countries believe Russia and North Korea could reach a deal on arms trade and defense cooperation at the meeting, contrary to UN resolutions.
While the United States and South Korea believe North Korea will sell weapons to Russia, the two countries have previously rejected these claims. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that they would not make public the “sensitive” issues of the meeting between the two leaders.
North Korean leader Kim had traveled abroad only seven times during his 12 years in office.
