At the hearing, which began Monday, prosecutor Allison Hunter said: “Incomprehensibly, cruelly, regardless of their motives, these three defendants tormented, tortured, starved, burned and ultimately beat Shakira Spencer to death.” .

Shakira was found dead by police at her home in Hanwell, west London, on September 25, 2022, after a neighbor noticed maggots coming out from under her front door.

Allegedly; Spencer was also under the control of these three defendants. Studholme and Richardson dominated Spencer, isolating him from everyone he knew for several months before his death, forcing him into prostitution, and robbing him of his self-esteem and his finances.

At the hearing, where details of the brutal murder were revealed, it was claimed that Spencer woke up in the early hours of the morning to clean the defendants’ homes and run errands.

Prosecutor Hunter said: “At the beginning of 2021, Shakira Spencer was a healthy person weighing approximately 74kg. In July 2022, Shakira Spencer was emaciated. She “She was covered in bruises from head to toe.”

The jury was told the abuse against Spencer came to a head when he was almost beaten to death at Studholme home around September 11 and 12 last year.

They allegedly put him in the trunk of a Honda Civic car and took him to their apartment, where they locked him in a hallway closet.

Prosecutor Hunter continued: “On Sunday, September 25, 2022, police were called to Shakira’s address only when neighbors saw maggots crawling out from under her door, and the subsequent investigation revealed in detail what the defendants had done.” .

It was also claimed that Spencer’s body was left to decompose, and even chunks of ice were left around his body to slow the decomposition.

It was stated that the accused abandoned the body because they could not risk transporting it due to its state of decomposition. A pathologist was unable to determine exactly how Spencer died due to the poor condition of his body.

According to another allegation, the three defendants also carried out strict cleaning to remove their traces from Spencer’s house.

It was also revealed in court that Richardson sent a series of messages mocking and harassing Shakira.

Jurors were told a post-mortem examination showed crushing injuries to the ear, cuts to the scalp and burns to the feet.

While Pendlebury, Richardson and Studholme deny the charges against them, the case is still ongoing.
