Iran’s reaction to the joint exercise between the United States and Armenia

Reacting to the joint US-Armenia exercise, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kenani said Washington has never sought to ensure security in the region.

Responding to a question about the joint US-Armenia exercise, Kenani said: “US forces have never tried to ensure security. “They caused instability and security problems wherever they went,” he said.

Kenani stated that the problems of the region must be resolved by the countries of the region and said: “We consider that the presence of transregional forces in the region is contrary to stability and security.”

In its statement of September 6, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia announced that the joint exercise “Eagle Partner 2023” with the United States would be held from September 11 to 20 in the framework of “preparations for participation in international maintenance missions peace”. (AA)
