India hands over G-20 presidency to Brazil
On the last day of the G-20 Summit held in India this year, the G20 presidency, led by India, was transferred to Brazil.
At the closing session, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the presidential gavel to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Brazil will assume the presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2023 until the end of 2024.
The priorities of Brazil’s presidency include poverty, sustainable development and the reform of international organizations.
Indian Prime Minister Modi suggested holding an online summit of G20 leaders in November.
US President Joe Biden said the G20 Summit emphasized unity and solutions to the challenges facing the global economy.
