In the city of Elancourt, 40 kilometers from Paris, the capital of France, the 16-year-old Turkish teenager Sefa Şahin was seriously injured when he was hit by a police car and his brain died.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon around 6:00 p.m. local time. Şahin’s motorcycle crashed when he blocked the police vehicle.

Şahin’s uncle, Nuri Şahin, said that when he arrived at the scene, the police were not allowed to intervene in his nephew. The painful uncle also stated that the recordings of the cameras in the place were interfered with.

Uncle Şahin, based on witness testimony, said that without warning, a police car blocked his nephew, who was riding a motorcycle, and therefore Sefa hit the front hood. Noting that his nephew was hit by a second police vehicle, Şahin stated that Sefa was not lifted off the ground for more than half an hour.

Noting that his nephew was taken to a hospital 1.5 hours away, instead of hospitals 5 and 10 minutes away, Uncle Şahin said that they had discussed with the hospital so that they would not disconnect his nephew from the unit. on life support and he gained 3-4 days.

Şahin said: “We want to take my nephew to Turkey. Because here we do not trust the hospital in any way. The hospital now wants to pull the plug on my nephew,” he said.

2 POLICE OFFICER RELEASED

Following Şahin’s brain death, his family filed a criminal complaint against the police. Two police officers were detained in connection with the incident but were later released.

The family’s lawyer, Yassine Bouzrou, denied the media allegations from the police perspective that “the teenager crashed into the police car”. Bouzrou claimed that the police followed Şahin with his vehicle, calling the incident an “intentional assassination attempt”.

After Algerian-born 17-year-old Nahel M., who failed to comply with a “stop” warning in Nanterre, France, was shot dead by traffic police in June, violent protests raged for days in the country.
