Strong sanction for the name that organized the assault on the US congress.

Enrique Tarrio, leader of the far-right group “Proud Boys”, which allegedly organized the assault on the Congress building on January 6, 2021 in the United States, was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

According to a US Department of Justice statement, it was claimed that although Tarrio was not in Washington at the time of the incident, he arranged for the group’s participation in the raid. The statement stated that Tarrio made a plan to disrupt the functioning of the congress by forming a team called the “Civil Defense Ministry” within the Proud Boys group.

Tarrio was also reported to have shared on social media platforms that he was “proud” of the raiding party and that he welcomed the event. Convicted of “conspiracy against the state,” Tarrio became the person sentenced to the longest prison term for the raid.

TRUMP PROS BROUGHT CONGRESS

Since January 6, 2021, when the raid took place, 1,106 people implicated in the incident have been detained. Of those, 350 were charged with assault and resisting the police. Ethan Nordean, one of the “Proud Boys” members who participated in the raid, was sentenced to 18 years in prison and Dominic Pezzola was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Former US President Donald Trump has vowed to grant amnesty to those who stormed the Capitol Building if he is re-elected in 2024.

After the demonstration in front of the White House, thousands of protesters marching towards the United States Congress tried to break through the barricades and enter the building. Shortly after the clashes with the police, some protesters entered the Senate.

The Electoral College voting confirmation session for the presidential election in Congress was adjourned and Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the session, and members of Congress were evacuated from the building. Trump, for his part, asked his followers for “modesty” on his Twitter account, who were demonstrating in front of the Congress building.
