Horrible incident: They pushed to death the passenger who wanted to get on the ferry
An incident that took place in the Greek port city of Piraeus and was caught moment by moment by security cameras created a shocking effect on the country’s agenda.
A confrontation between a passenger who caught the regular ferry service leaving the port of Piraeus for Heraklion at the last minute on Tuesday night, and the crew on board, ended in a tragic death.
The Greek media, which published the images from the security cameras, announced that the ship’s staff pushed the passenger and caused his death. In the footage, just as the ship is about to take off, a fleeing passenger attempts to board the ship.
Meanwhile, while the boat’s engine is running, the man, who is supposedly 36 years old, and two men who work on two boats argue. The two staff members who do not get the man on board push him first. Angered by this and wanting to get back to the ship, the man makes another move. However, as the ship is moving, the ramp moves away from the pier.
THREE PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE CAPTAIN, HAVE BEEN ARRESTED
When two officers quickly intervene and push the man away, the man who loses his balance falls into the sea. Meanwhile, as the ship is moving, two officers stand by and watch as the man drowns. Although the authorities explained that it is not yet known if the man was attached to the engine, a short time later the lifeless body of the man was found.
After the incident arose in the port of Piraeus, the ship was called to the port and an investigation into the incident was launched. The two staff members who caused the death of the 36-year-old man and the ship’s captain were reportedly detained.
