Dodi Al Fayed’s father, Mohamed Al Fayed, dies at 94
The millionaire Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, former owner of the famous London store Harrods and the Fulham football club, died yesterday at the age of 94. Al Fayed’s son, Dodi Al Fayed, died on August 31, 1997 in a car accident with Princess Diana in France.
Fulham Football Club said yesterday that everyone in Fulham was incredibly saddened to learn of the death of our former owner and Chairman, Mohamed Al Fayed. We are indebted to Mohamed for what he has done for our club and our thoughts now turn to his statements to his family and friends at this dark time.
Al Fayed, who claimed the car accident that killed Princess Diana and her son Dodi was arranged by Britain’s Intelligence Service, was worth $1.9 billion as of November 2022.
Born in Alexandria on January 20, 1929, Al Fayed began his career in Egypt and later married Semira Khashoggi, the sister of Saudi millionaire Adnan Khashoggi. Al Fayed’s son, Dodi, became the producer of the film Cars of Fire in 1981, which won 4 Oscars. (DHA)
