Trump will be tried live
The trial, in which former US President Donald Trump and 18 other defendants are charged with meddling in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election, will be broadcast live on television and online.
According to US media reports, Fulton District Judge Scott McAfee has ordered that all hearings be broadcast live on the Fulton District Court’s YouTube channel and television.
This will be the first public hearing in either case against Trump, but McAfee’s decision will be void if either defendant takes the case to federal court.
Trump’s White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who was among those charged, had requested that the case be heard in federal court.
CRIMINAL PHOTO WAS THE AGENDA
Trump was indicted by the Atlanta grand jury on August 15 with interfering with the results of the 2020 election in the state of Georgia, and turned himself in on August 24 as part of the indictment.
Posting $200,000 bail, Trump’s criminal records were first taken for his arrest record when he turned himself in. Trump went down in history as the “first American president with a criminal record.”
Trump has raised more than $7.1 million for his candidacy since he surrendered on Aug. 24. (AA)
