Last year there was a crisis… NATO August 30 Message
NATO Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) congratulated Turkey on August 30, Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day.
LANDCOM, which celebrated Victory Day on August 30 with a similar message last year but removed its congratulatory message on social media after Greece objected, included the phrase “Happy Victory Day” in Turkish this anus.
Continuing the message in English on the X platform of LANDCOM, which is based in Izmir, “We would like to express our thanks to Turkey for hosting us on this special day. Turkey has participated in many operations and exercises since joining NATO in 1952, and its soldiers have always shown great professionalism and perseverance. Türkiye and NATO are stronger and safer together.
LAST YEAR’S MESSAGE ANGRY ATHENS
LANDCOM made a similar post on August 30 last year, but the social media post was removed after Greece objected.
Turkey drew the attention of the NATO authorities to the deletion of the message and declared the situation unacceptable. Following this, LANDCOM shared a new congratulatory message on September 1. (AA)
