ISIS alert on the US border
US officials reported that Turkish security forces carried out operations against the structure, which was allegedly “providing assistance to Uzbek, Russian, Chechen, and Georgian individuals in Turkey to travel to the United States and is affiliated with ISIS.”
The statement indicated that as a result of these operations, 4 people who were in the building were captured. The statement stated that no determination could be made that these individuals were related to ISIS and stressed that investigations are continuing to identify the other individuals claimed to be in the building.
In the statement, “Turkey continues its efforts to fight against terrorist organizations, including ISIS, with the contribution of cooperation with its allies at the international level.” expressions were used.
“WE WORK WITH THE COMMON STATE”
Separately, White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a written statement to the AA correspondent on the subject that there was no information that the people who entered the US had connections to some terrorist organization.
Watson noted that the United States acted quickly and was working “with a partner state abroad.”
Watson said that people believed to be associated with the structure in question at the border are scrutinized very closely and dispatched quickly, explaining that people are usually arrested.
Watson noted that the United States will continue to share information with its foreign partners.
The influx of irregular immigrants crossing the US-Mexico border is often on the country’s agenda. Terrorist organizations such as FETÖ and PKK have been known to use this line to make money and smuggle their members abroad. (AA)
