The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced current figures on civilians who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. The statement indicated that 9,511 civilians lost their lives and 17,206 civilians were injured between February 24, 2022 and August 27, 2023.

In the report it is announced that in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions alone 4,220 people lost their lives and 6,183 were injured. It was reported that 2,115 people who lost their lives and 2,999 people who were injured were from regions under Russian control.

The UN announced that between August 1 and 27, 108 people, including 34 women and 5 children, lost their lives and 477 people, including 148 women and 16 children, were injured.
