A new body is found at the site of a fire in Greece
The body, believed to belong to an irregular migrant, was reported to have been found in the burning forest area of Dadia in the Evros region of Greece.
According to information provided by the region’s Greek state television ERT, a burned body was found this morning in the forest area near the village of Kavacık (Lefkimi). The body, which was taken to Forensic Medicine for autopsy, is believed to belong to an irregular migrant who was trying to cross into Greece via the Evros River.
The fires, which have plagued the country since August 19, lost their effects on the seventh day, although they could not be completely controlled.
In Viotia, on August 21, a herder and an irregular migrant were killed in Kavacık (Lefkimi), in the Evros region. The bodies of 18 people, including 2 children, were found in the Dadia forest area on August 22, presumably belonging to irregular migrants trying to cross the Evros river into Greece. (AA)
