South Africa: the BRICS group of countries on the brink of expansion
The BRICS group of countries, made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, is a platform that is expected to contain more than half of the world’s product by 2030.
Currently, 22 countries have applied to become members of the BRICS. The leaders evaluated these membership applications in the meetings they held today, mostly closed to the press.
In a statement on these meetings, host country leader Ramaphosa said: “We are about to expand the BRICS family because only through this expansion will we be able to have a much stronger BRICS in these turbulent times.” He used the phrase.
