In France, a red alert was declared in 19 regions due to the heat.
According to the statement from the French Meteorological Administration, 15 more regions have been placed on red alert due to rising temperatures.
Thus, in addition to Drome, Haute-Loire, Rhone and Ardeche, Ain, Loire, Isere, Lozere, Gard, Vaucluse, Herault, Aveyron, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Aude, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Haute- Garonne and the Gers districts have also been added to the red alert list.
TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO RISE
While yesterday was the hottest day on record in the country’s history after August 15, temperatures are forecast to rise further tomorrow and the day after.
According to weather forecast reports, some regions in the southwestern part of the country could enter the red alert list on August 24 due to rising temperatures.
Due to the high temperatures in the country recently, an orange alert has been issued in 50 regions.
The French Meteorological Administration had warned about the risk of fire in these areas.
The French government also announced that it has started providing free water service at train stations in regions where temperatures are effective, including the cities of Paris, Lyon and Marseille. (AA)
