Serial killer nurse who killed babies punished
Nurse Lucy Letby, who worked as a newborn nurse at the Countess of Chester hospital in England and was charged with killing and attempting to kill babies, was sentenced to life in prison at the court where she was taken today.
An investigation was launched into the infant deaths during the days that Letby was on call at the hospital in 2015-2016, and a lawsuit was filed on suspicion that the nurse killed the babies by injecting them with air and insulin.
Letby, the biggest child murderer in British history, was found guilty of 14 of 22 charges, including the death of 7 babies, 5 boys and 2 girls, and the attempted murder in court last week.
‘EVIL AT THE LEVEL OF SADISM’
The sentence handed down to the former nurse was announced at the hearing held today in Manchester. Unsurprisingly, Letby, 33, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering 7 babies and attempting to kill 6 babies.
“These calculated and brutal murders were targeted at the most vulnerable children,” Judge James Goss said. There are no extenuating circumstances. There is a sadism-level evil in your actions,” the decision announced.
