Mine exploded, 13 workers lost their lives
Authorities stated that a minibus carrying workers in the North Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, near the country’s border with Afghanistan, struck a landmine in the Şaval district on Saturday night.
Local administration chairman Rehan Gul announced that 13 workers in the minibus lost their lives as a result of the mine explosion.

Regional police chief Naik Muhammed confirmed the death toll, saying 2 workers were also injured in the “terrorist attack.”
Although the minibus carrying the workers was reported to be heading towards the South Waziristan region, no explanation was given as to who was responsible for the attack.

Terror attacks increased 79 percent in the first 6 months of this year compared to 2022, according to data from Pakistan’s Institute for Conflict and Security Studies.
In the first 6 months of the year there were 271 terrorist attacks and 389 people lost their lives. In the same period of 2022, there were 151 terrorist attacks and 293 people lost their lives.
Terror attacks have increased in the country, especially in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in recent months.
Islamabad maintains that these attacks were planned and directed by the Afghanistan-based Pakistani Taliban (TTP), which Afghanistan denies. (AA)
