Italian tourists anger PM: Pay fools
It has been announced that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who went on vacation to Albania, will pay the bills of Italian tourists who ate at a restaurant in the country and escaped without money.
Albania has recently become one of the main holiday destinations for Italian tourists. Meloni and her family also went on vacation to the country this week at the invitation of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Meloni took action after a group of Italians escaped from the restaurant without paying the bill in the city of Berat. Speaking to the Italian press, Rama said Meloni had instructed the Italian ambassador to the country to “go and pay for these idiots.”
Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy’s Agriculture Minister, who accompanied the Meloni family on their vacation, said the event was a “matter of national pride” for the country. Lollobrigida said: “Meloni offered to pay the bill. “A few rogues cannot humiliate the country of honorable people,” he said.
