Gulf Cooperation Council: We are concerned about the resumption of the Grain Corridor Agreement

According to the written statement made by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the General Secretary of the GCC, Casim Mohammed al-Budeyvi, had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmitro Kuleba.

During the meeting, Budevyi and Kuleba discussed the latest developments regarding the crisis in Ukraine, as well as bilateral relations.

Budeyvi pointed out that the GCC countries adopted an attitude based on international law and the United Nations (UN) convention in the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

Stating that, as GCC countries, they support efforts to resolve the Ukraine-Russia crisis by peaceful means, Budeyvi stressed that they attach importance to the resumption of the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement, which will contribute to food security by facilitating the export of cereals and all food products.

BLACK SEA GRAIN CORRIDOR AGREEMENT

In order to reduce the impact of the Ukraine-Russia War on world food prices, the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine signed the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement at a ceremony in Istanbul on July 22, 2022.
