Crisis in emergency services in France… Worse than ever
According to the news in the newspaper La Provence, the emergency services of the country’s hospitals are going through a great crisis. Patients arriving at hospitals are placed in beds placed in the hospital gardens due to lack of staffing and density. Some doctors also pre-screen patients in the garden to reduce the intensity.
In addition to staff shortages, 112 emergency services are unable to provide service in many regions due to employee strikes.
Marc Noizet, president of Samu-Urgences France, the organization that provides emergency services in the country, said emergency services in all sectors, including tourist areas, are fighting the crisis. Noizet claimed that 69 out of 100 emergency hotlines in 15 regions are unable to respond due to the workers’ strike. Saying: “Their salaries are insufficient, they are worried about advancing their careers, and their numbers are not enough in the face of the rush,” Noizet said, adding that there are major disruptions in all areas of service.
THEY INSPECT THE HOSPITAL PARKING LOT
Noizet said that doctors working in important regions of the country, such as the Vendée and Gironde, had to switch to a system in which they carried out preliminary examinations to alleviate emergencies in the parking lot in front of hospitals.
Noting that almost all emergency services are closed in tourist areas like the French Riviera, Noizet pointed out that the situation is worse than last summer, when there was great distress, or even worse than ever.
Noting that ambulance and home care services in the field of emergencies sometimes stop during the day and sometimes for a week, Noizet pointed out that the 112 emergency service line, which is around 7 in Angers, is closed. for a week, and this makes life -threatening dangers.
Marc Noizet affirmed that the Ministry of Health has begun to understand the seriousness of the situation and they hope for improvements, albeit late.
Health Minister Aurelien Rousseau, during his visit yesterday to the emergency call unit in Toulouse, stated that he was right in some of the demands of the striking staff. Rousseau said they expected the matter to be resolved in the coming weeks. (AA)
