Apology from the Koran from Denmark

Apology from the Koran from Denmark

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lökke Rasmussen apologized for attacks on the Koran outside the embassies of some Islamic countries, including Algeria, in Copenhagen, the Danish capital, and expressed regret.

According to a written statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen had a telephone conversation with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf. During the meeting, the Danish minister expressed his regret and apologized for the crime spree against the burning of the Holy Quran in front of the embassies of some Islamic countries, including the Algerian Embassy in Copenhagen.

Emphasizing that these actions are unacceptable, Minister Rasmussen pointed out that the attacks in question completely violate Danish society’s tradition of tolerance. Rasmussen also informed Attaf that his government is finalizing the bill that aims to put an end to these heinous practices, adding that he will submit this bill to parliament.

WARNING FROM SWEDEN

Sweden also called on Swedes abroad and Swedish-affiliated companies to “be careful” after attacks on the Quran and protests against it in the Islamic world.

According to AP news, Sweden’s national security adviser, Henrik Landerholm, stated in a written statement that Swedes abroad and companies affiliated with Sweden must be “vigilant and careful.” Landerholm noted that there is a “growing threat” to the country and Sweden’s interests abroad, emphasizing the worsening security situation.

“Representatives of terrorist groups called for an attack on Sweden. States and other actors have helped reinforce such messages.” Landerholm noted that Sweden is now considered a priority target when it was a legitimate target. (AA)
