Great panic on the plane carrying the German minister
The plane, which was scheduled to take German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to Australia, made a forced landing in Abu Dhabi due to a malfunction.
According to German press reports, the “Airbus 340-300” type aircraft carrying Baerbock took off again after refueling in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, a few minutes after takeoff, the pilot detected a malfunction in the plane. The plane made a forced landing in Abu Dhabi after circling for approximately 2 hours and dumping 80 tons of fuel.
German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer stated in his social media post that they had to pause their trip to Australia due to mechanical problems and return to Abu Dhabi for security reasons. At the Abu Dhabi airport, it was noted that they were evaluating whether the fault could be fixed on the spot or whether another plane would come from Germany to take the delegation to Australia.
It has been reported that Minister Baerbock may continue his journey on a scheduled flight. Foreign Minister Baerbock was scheduled to visit Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Fiji this week. (AA)
