A dam partially collapsed in Norway due to the storm
The Norwegian authorities reported that the Braskereidfoss hydraulic power station, which lost its function when it was submerged under water and which they planned to detonate in a controlled manner, was partially destroyed by the floods.
In the statement, it was stated that the water level in the region will gradually stabilize thanks to the spontaneous collapse of the Braskereidfoss hydropower plant, which is built on the Glomma river, the longest in Norway.
More than 1,000 people living in the region, which was at risk of flooding due to the impossibility of opening the dam lid, were evacuated yesterday.
As evacuations continued yesterday, a 70-year-old woman who was trapped in floodwaters lost her life.
As Storm Hans hit northern Europe, the natural disaster alert remained at its highest level in southern Norway. (AA)
