Climate activist Greta appears in court: fined
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg went on trial for “disobeying the police” at the climate protest she attended in Malmö in June.
In a statement made by Swedish Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Annika Collin and prosecutors, it was claimed that Thunberg was accused of failing to comply with police warnings to leave the scene during a protest in Malmö.
Prosecutor Charlotte Ottosen told the local newspaper Sydsvenskan that the penalty for disobeying the police is usually a fine.

Greta Thunberg reacted to her fines.
Thunberg, 20, who appeared before the judge, was fined… Thunberg was ordered to pay a fine of SEK 1,500, equivalent to approximately TL 3,800, and pay SEK 1,000 to the police.
“It is absurd that those who act in accordance with science pay money,” Thunberg said.
Thunberg and other climate activists were detained by police on June 19 after they blocked the road at the Malmö port oil terminal, the Sydsvenskan newspaper reported.
Greta Thunberg made a name for herself with the weekly school strike she started in Sweden to draw attention to the effects of climate change. The strike inspired similar actions in almost 100 countries. (AGENCIES)
