The winner of the elections in Spain has been announced.
In Spain, where there are approximately 37.4 million registered voters, the voting process ended at 20:00 (21:00 CEST) throughout the country, except in the Canary Islands, where there is a time difference of one hour.
According to the results of the poll announced by Sigma Dos, facilitated by Spanish state television TVE, the right-wing PP in the main opposition came out first in the elections.
The PP, which failed to win a parliamentary majority according to poll results, needs to form a coalition with the far-right party Vox to form a government as expected before the elections.
According to the survey published on TVE, the distribution in the 350-seat Spanish parliament was as follows: PP 145/150, Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) 113/118, Sumar (a party formed from an alliance of left-wing parties and participating in the elections for the first time) 28-32, Vox 24-27, others 30-35.
If these forecasts come true, it is expected that Alberto Núñez Feijoo, 62, who was elected president of the PP approximately a year ago, will become president of the Government and an extreme right-wing party will come to power in the country for the first time in the history of Spanish democracy after the dictator Franco.
PARTICIPATION IN THE ELECTIONS ABANDONED
On the other hand, participation in the elections was low. According to the latest data announced by the Ministry of the Interior approximately 1.5 hours before the polls closed, the participation rate was 53.12 percent.
