South Korea is on alert! More than 2,000 reports were made in 4 days
According to the Yonhap report, South Korea’s National Police Agency announced that 2,058 suspicious packages from citizens have been reported since Thursday.
In the statement, it was reported that 645 packages were examined by the police among the aforementioned notices, and the rest were false reports.
Police said the packages, which they examined with concerns that they contain toxic substances, have been empty or contain cheap products, contrary to concerns so far.
SUSPECT OF FRAUD
South Korean police suspect some form of fraud, in which some e-commerce companies illegally buy citizens’ personal information and try to increase their sales and gain positive reviews by sending unordered products to their addresses.
The authorities reported that they determined that the suspicious international packages were from Taiwan and acted together with their Chinese counterparts to solve the problem. (AA)
