Israeli Chief of Staff summons reserve soldiers to army

The Israeli army spokesman shared the open letter from Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi to those who decided to leave their voluntary reserve military service.

In his letter, Halevi claimed that the heat of debate in Israeli society extends to the army and “affects the harmony in the armed forces” and stated that this situation “could lead to dangerous cracks.”

Asking the reservists to return to the army, Halevi said: “If we don’t have a strong and complete army, if the best option is not to serve in the army, we cannot exist as a country in this region.” he used his statements.

Noting that it is not too late to rectify the situation, Israel’s Chief of General Staff stated that “the army cannot continue without internal and external harmony, and the responsibility for this rests with the army command.”

In Israel, it was announced that 10,000 more volunteer reservists would resign from the army against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which restricts the powers of the judiciary.
