Russia attacks the cathedral: there are dead and wounded
Serhiy Kruk, Head of Ukraine’s Emergency Situations Service, stated that a cathedral and settlements were the target of the attack and that teams tried to rescue the works inside.
In the statement issued by the Emergency Service of Ukraine, it was stated that a man who was hit by a piece of shrapnel was killed in the attack and 22 people were injured, including two children aged 11 and 12.
The statement read: “All of Ukraine stands with Odessa today. We are together against the Russian evil.
THE CATHEDRAL IS THE TARGET
Emergency services chief Kruk said a cathedral was also hit and efforts are continuing to salvage many of the artifacts inside.
“Russia is mercilessly destroying not only architectural works, but also the spirit of a colorful city with a centuries-old history,” the service shared.
RUSSIA: INSTALLATION PREPARED FOR TERRORIST ACTION IS LISTENED
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated that facilities for the production of unmanned water vehicles and preparations for terrorist acts with these vehicles near the city of Odessa were hit by high-precision missiles.
Konashenkov made statements about the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine.
Noting that the army achieved the targets set in Ukraine, Konashenkov said: “Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces attacked facilities near Odessa with high-precision missiles on the production of unmanned water vehicles and preparations for terrorist acts against Russia with these vehicles.”
Konashenkov stated that there were foreign mercenaries at the facility, saying: “All selected facilities have been destroyed.”
DENIAL HAS ARRIVED
In another statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, allegations that the Odessa Cathedral was damaged in the attacks are denied.
In the statement, which reported that the attacks were carried out in areas far from the cathedral, it was noted that the cathedral was “probably” damaged by missiles launched from the Ukrainian army’s air defense systems. (AGENCIES)
