The NATO-Ukraine Council meets for the shipment of grains

The Council, which was established at the NATO Summit in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and held its first meeting during the summit, will meet for the second time.

NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu stated that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian President Zelenskiy spoke yesterday and discussed Russia’s unilateral withdrawal from the Black Sea grain deal.

Lungescu announced that, at Zelenskiy’s request, Stoltenberg will convene the NATO-Ukraine Council on Wednesday (July 26) at the ambassadorial level.

It was reported that the Council will deal with the shipment of grain produced by Ukraine from the Black Sea to world markets.

To reduce the impact of Russia’s attack on Ukraine on world food prices, the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine signed the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement with a ceremony held in Istanbul on July 22, 2022.

The Kremlin announced last week that the expired Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement has come to an end, the part of the agreement regarding Russia has not been fulfilled, and Russia will return to the grain agreement when the relevant conditions apply. (AA)
